WITT, Charles Vernon - Putnam

Michigan City, Ind Nov 24 – Charles Vernon Witt, 28, Putnam County youth, died in the electric chair at the state prison here today for the slaying of Lafayette A. Jackson, wealthy Indianapolis chain store owner. Witt was taken from his cell in death row at 12:02 a.m.  He was strapped in the chair at 12:05 a.m. and was pronounced dead four minutes later.
